<p>The Gender Gap Grader is about measuring the gender gap across all professional fields.</p>

<p>Gender Gap Grader’s mission is to publish gender gap estimates at the finest grain level, using whatever reference database we can identify for a particular industry: The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) for the <a href="http://nocountryforyoungwomen.com/2014/05/20/gendre-imdb-an-open-data-analysis-of-the-film-industry-gender-gap/">film industry</a>, “The Airman Database” for <a href="http://gendergapgrader.com/studies/airline-pilots/">pilots</a>, “The AngelList” for <a href="http://gendergapgrader.com/studies/angel-investing/">startups and investors</a>, <a href="http://gendergapgrader.com/studies/gender-gap-in-science/">scientists</a> … and more to come.</p>

<p>The estimates are produced using open data and applied onomastics from NamSor, to infer the likely gender of a personal name with <a href="https://blog.namsor.com/2018/01/31/understanding-namsor-api-precision-for-gender-inference/">high accuracy</a>.</p>
<p>The toolkit includes open source components for popular data mining tools and languages,</p>

<p><a href="https://powerbi.microsoft.com/">Power BI Desktop</a> is a free, stand-alone application from Microsoft. It has rich, easy-to-use analytic capabilities and makes it painless to bring in data from a variety of sources. With the <a href="https://github.com/namsor/namsor-powerbi-connector">open source connector</a>, any PowerBI table that has personal names can be enriched with gender information or other diversity analytics (country of origin / ethnicity …) Example: the <a href="http://gendergapgrader.com/2018/05/how-many-merger-acquistions-professionals-are-women/">Gender Gap in M&amp;A</a>.</p>

<li>Other alternative include : <a href="https://github.com/namsor/rapidminer-onomastics-extension">RapidMiner</a>, <a href="https://github.com/cdcrabtree/nomine">nomine</a> R Package, or using directly the <a href="https://blog.namsor.com/api">Gender API</a> with python or other computer languages.</li>
