<p><br /> <i>While migration used to be a very South-North phenomenon, today the situation is very different, as a lot of migration flows remain in the South hemisphere. Also, while men used to make the majority of migrants, women increasingly migrate as well; this has both positive and negative effects on women and on their families.</i>
