The portal contains a <b>directory of resources</b>, which provides access to specific information on selected topics – including the critical areas of concern of the Beijing Platform for Action, related policy outcomes, statistics and indicators, publications and tools on gender equality and gender mainstreaming, and a series of <b>thematic sub-portals</b> dedicated to specific issues that are currently on the UN global agenda, such as <a href="http://www.un.org/womenwatch/feature/climate_change/">climate change</a>; <a href="http://www.un.org/womenwatch/feature/urban/">urbanization</a>; <a href="http://www.un.org/womenwatch/feature/wps/">women, peace and security</a>, etc. In addition, UN Women Watch features <b><a href="http://www.un.org/womenwatch/ungen/">UNGENews</a></b>, a real-time newsfeed aggregator of all United Nations news on gender equality and the empowerment of women. The official United Nations theme for International Women’s Day 2014 is "Equality for women is progress for all." Celebrated by women’s rights activists across the world annually on 8 March, International Women’s Day (IWD) has been marked by the UN since 1975.
