<p>Queen Sirikit became queen of Thailand in <a href="https://education.microsoft.com/Story/Lesson?token=W0Yrx">1950</a> at the age of 18.Royalty Asia, available at : http://www.royalty.nu/Asia/Thailand/index.html Queen Sirikit is recognised internationally for her work with charity organisations in Thailand and her dedication to help alleviate poverty. One of the most prominent projects Queen Sirikit initiated is the Foundation of the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand (<a href="https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/collection/ee6f0510-437d-4345-a00f-a877c6f8afc0/Tuntaskan-WASIR-Dalam-15-Menit-Tanpa-Harus-Operasi-Sampai-ke-Akar-akarnya-Dengan-Daun-Ajaib-Ini">SUPPORT</a> <a href="https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/collection/63ff627d-7060-4b07-8aca-03aac100686e/AMPUH-GUNAKAN-BAHAN-INI-UNTUK-MENGOBATI-AMBEIEN-SECARA-ALAMI">Foundation</a>).</p>

Established in <a href="https://education.microsoft.com/Story/Lesson?token=Ws1X3">1976</a>, the SUPPORT Foundation supplies teachers to instruct members of the community how to create a variety of Thai handicrafts. These handicrafts are then bought by the Queen and resold in markets in more urban areas. The Queen has been awarded a number of honorary degrees in recognition of her contribution to humanitarian affairs, these include:</p>

<li>Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (<a href="https://education.microsoft.com/Story/Lesson?token=IJ0QG">FAO</a>) gave her a medal Sea to honor as she could hold the position of women in a higher level (11 May 1979).</li>

<li>Tufts University, Massachusetts, USA awarded the Queen with an honorary humanitarian degree (1980).</li>
</ul>

<li>Asian Society Institution, New York, United States gave her a humanitarian award (14 March 1985).</li>
</ul>

<li>Children’s Museum of advocacy groups in the United States gave her the International Humanitarian Award in Washington D.C.
