Public hearing at the European Parliament: The importance of fisheries for women in third countries
This event is organized by the European Parliament’s <a href="http://www.europarl.europa.eu/committees/en/pech/home.html" target="_blank">Committee on Fisheries</a>, in collaboration with the <a href="http://www.europarl.europa.eu/committees/en/femm/events.html?id=20160615CHE00161" target="_blank">Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality</a>. The hearing aims at emphasising the importance of fisheries for women in third countries and the special role they can play in different socio-economic situations.

The first panel will explore the current situation and highlight future perspectives. The second panel will look into the role of fisheries’ external dimension in improving conditions of women in third countries.

The <a href="http://www.europarl.europa.eu/committees/en/femm/events.html?id=20160615CHE00161" target="_blank">event</a> is public and will take place on the 15th of June 2016 from 3:30 to 6:30pm, in Brussels (European Parliament – Room ASP 3E2).
