The aim of the initiative is to coordinate, support and celebrate INSEAD's many activities relating to women’s participation in business and business education, and reinforce its commitment to harnessing the management potential of women from diverse cultures throughout the world.

Mission

INSEAD’s guiding principle is driven by the principle of cultural diversity. The INSEAD Gender Diversity Initiative was created to further emphasize the diversity component, with the view of increasing women’s representation in business and business education. The initiative builds on the many gender-diversity activities at INSEAD, across all programmes, all departments and all activities, and aims at making an impact on business not only at INSEAD but also elsewhere.

Research

The INSEAD Gender Diversity Initiative brings together a diverse group of INSEAD faculty and researchers from all business disciplines to investigate a range of topics relating to gender diversity in organisations. INSEAD also works with external stakeholders, whether corporate, public-sector or non-profit organisations, in order to influence business throughout the world.

The main research areas of the initiative are:

Women and leadership

Diversity and organisational performance

Career and talent management

Women and entrepreneurship

Women and economic development

Teaching

The INSEAD Gender Diversity Initiative supports all activities that attract more women to the school’s degree and executive programmes, and is involved with developing innovative content that specifically addresses gender issues. It is also spearheading initiatives to support women teachers at INSEAD.

As a result, female participation is rising across INSEAD degree programmes, although further efforts are needed in order to increase representation of women at INSEAD – particularly in Executive Education programmes and, most of all, on the faculty.

More information

For more information on Programmes, Scolarships, and Partners, visit the INSEAD Gender Diversity Initiative Website

Contact

See also

Link to Corporate Social Responsibility

Wikigender page on Catalyst, one of the INSEAD Gender Diversity Initiative's partners
