The Global Fund for Women (GFW) is a US-based international network of women and men committed to a world of equality&nbsp; and social justice. They are a non-profit grantmaking foundation that funds other organisations that advances [Pagelink infos="Women's rights|women's human rights"] worldwide. Since 1987 GFW has awarded over $71 million to 3,800 women's organizations in 167 countries. 
The Global Fund for Women was established in 1987 by Anne Firth Murray, the Global Fund's founding president and first CEO.

GFW supports efforts that increase women's ability to contribute to and benefit from economic growth and development. 

<ul><li>Violence Against Women
</li></ul>
GFW supports programs that offer immediate services to victims of violence, raise awareness about their rights and advocate for an end to all forms of violence. 

<ul><li>Education
</li></ul>
GFW invests in programs that ensure access to education for women and girls at all stages of their lives. 

<ul><li>Health
</li></ul>
GFW grants educate women about basic health and sanitation practices, demand government accountability for ensuring good public health policy and provide critical services to the most under-served populations. 

<ul><li>Leadership
</li></ul>
GFW supports women’s leadership in civic organizations, in local government and in decision-making bodies at the highest levels of governance.

The Global Fund makes grants to seed, strengthen and link women's rights groups based outside the [Pagelink infos="United_States|Gender Equality in the United States of America of America"] working to address human rights issues that include:
