Its creation was a result of the meeting planned by the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO) and the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) of 50 women activists in March 2007 and the ensuing discussions. The campaign is directed by the GEAR Campaign Working Group, which is made up of various women’s organizations and is coordinated by a committee based in New York [Pagelink infos="Gender Equality in the United States of America of America"].
