 [Image infos="WomanWaterAfrica.jpg|thumb|right"] Women and men interact with their physical environment and natural resources in different ways. However, across the world, women are still discriminated against when it comes to decision-making and natural resource management. In some countries women have no or few rights to access land, for example, which limits their decision-making abilities and their capacity in maintaining welfare and well-being within the household and the community. Such gender-based inequalities hamper the abilities of societies to achieve sustainable development. 
Below are some articles written by 4 students from the Paris-based "Institut d'Etudes Politiques" for the month of December 2010. Each month until June 2011, new articles will be uploaded by the students on a different theme.

Wikigender has established a scheme with Paris-based universities that engages students in adding articles, doing outreach and benefitting from the networking opportunities provided by Wikigender. The program, called "[Wikigender University|Wikigender University]", is in the process of being expanded to universities around the world, in developing and developed countries alike.
