<p><b>Family Code</b> or <b>family law</b> is a branch of law that deals with issues pertaining to family and domestic relations. In several countries, the family code is primarily based on traditions and informal practices. Its scope includes, but is not limited to: 
</p>

</li><li>Issues arising during marriage, including spousal abuse, legitimacy, adoption, surrogacy, child abuse, and child abduction. 
</li><li>The termination of the relationship and ancillary matters including, [Pagelink infos="Divorce|divorce"], annulment, property settlements, alimony, and parental responsibility orders (in the United States, child custody and visitation, child support awards).
