<p>Eaves is a feminist organisation based in London, [Pagelink infos="Gender Equality in the United Kingdom|Gender Equality in the United Kingdom"] dedicated to supporting women victims of [Pagelink infos="Prostitution|prostitution"], [Pagelink infos="Gender violence|violence"] or poverty. Eaves was formed in 1977 as Homeless Action. Its aim was to target the hidden homeless – single women without dependents who are least likely to have other means of support – by providing them with high quality, temporary homes. </p><p>Eaves now runs several different support and accommodation projects as well as carrying out research and training on tackling violence against women.<br /> </p> <h2 id="w_vision">Vision<br /></h2> <p>Eaves is working towards a society where all women are valued and respected.<br /> </p> <h2 id="w_programmes">Programmes<br /></h2> <ul><li>Eaves Women’s Aid provides refuge accommodation for women escaping from domestic violence. The service has 66 bed spaces located in a series of refuges across London. </li><li>The POPPY Project provides accommodation and support for women who have been trafficked. In 2003 a pilot project was established with support from the Home Office. Since then there has been a high demand for the services offered. In 2007 the POPPY Project established an outreach team to meet the increased demand for its services. To date more than 700 women have been referred to the POPPY Project. <br /> </li><li>The Lilith Project was set up in 2002 to campaign against all forms of violence against women. As well as carrying out research, the Lilith Project provides support and training to agencies working directly with women who are victims of violence. </li><li>POPPY Research and Development carries out research, education and training on issues relating to trafficking of women for sexual exploitation and women wishing to exit prostitution. POPPY’s unique position of producing research about trafficking, alongside providing support and accommodation for women who have been trafficked, results in detailed and informed analysis that helps to shape public policy around prostitution and trafficking.<br /> </li></ul> <h2 id="w_references">References<br /></h2> <ul><li>http://www.eaves4women.co.uk/index.php<br /> </li></ul> <p> </p>
