<h3>OBJECTIVE</h3>
The objective of this event is to share the progress and report early results of the joint efforts of the World Bank, UN Women and the OECD Development Centre to measure and track progress on SDG Indicator 5.1.1. The panel is planned as a side event to the 63<sup>rd</sup> session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) taking place from 11 to 22 March 2019, in New York.

<h3>FORMAT</h3>
The event will be held at Conference Room D, Conference Room Building, UN Headquarters, New York, with speakers and moderator seated at the front table.  After the moderator gives welcome remarks, she will invite Janette Amer, Sarah Iqbal and Gaëlle Ferrant to highlight the work UN Women, the World Bank and the OECD Development Centre have been doing in the process of collecting and validating data under SDG Indicator 5.1.1. The team will have 30 minutes to share updates, including   the reclassification of the indicator to Tier II and some preliminary results. After that, Bandana Rana, Vice Chair of the CEDAW Committee will discuss the importance of the Convention in the implementation and achievement of the SDGs, particularly to end all forms of discrimination against women (Goal 5, Target 5.1 and indicator 5.1.1).  Martine Najem Kteily will then share country experiences and some of the Lebanon’s recent legal reforms. The moderator will then open the floor for Q&A. The event is scheduled to last one hour and fifteen minutes, and it will be an open event with room capacity for 50 people.
