‘Le Monde selon les femmes’ (World according to women) is a Feminist Perspectives Non Governmental Organization  active in development, Access to Education and women’s movement. Its objective is to advance equality between men and women, and between North and South. They partner with other NGOs, public institutions, trade unions and international organisations.

History

Le Monde selon les femmes was establishedin 1986. They initiated their programmes with regular meetings of women working in the sector of international development in order to exchange ideas on the visiblity of women in NGOs and development projects. Since 1993, Le monde selon les femmes has organised trainings for diverse organisations or NGOs and develops campaigns to sensibilise the public on the subject of gender and women in development, notably on the 8th march on International Women's Day

Objectives

  • Increase the place of women in development organisations of francophone Belgium
  • Highlight the important role of women in development projects
  • Push for practices that guarantee equality between men and women.

  • Advocacy
  • Development education
  • Empowerment programmes
  • Communication: creation and diffusion of pedagogical materials
  • Investment and publication of research valorising the strengths of the South
